Deloitte Case Reflection
Upon reflecting on our Deloitte case presentation, I was really encouraged with my team in terms of how organized we were throughout the whole process and divided up the work equally. Unfortunately, we had a teammate who was unable to perform, and I feel as if our group as a whole was able to combat it well and did not let it affect our preparation. We all were able to take certain parts within the case to dissect the slide deck and put together different proposals that we wanted to convey for the presentation. Although we were not one of the 2 teams that won today, I was really proud of how my team presented in front of the Deloitte representatives and felt as if everything went according to plan. I think that is the sign of a good team, and I believe each one of my teammates has good leadership skills. As we have wrapped up our second group project, I believe we have also recognized everyone’s strengths so that we can play those to our advantage in the future. To add onto this, I think a crucial thing is that we all trust each other to put in the necessary time and effort to maximize our group’s potential.
One thing I would point out that needed more attention in our presentation would be referencing Hammer Co’s stock price. In the post-presentation ceremony, that was cited as something that was very important to involve with the central issue of the company, and I feel as if we focused on financials in more of a financial/debt oriented way with the company. If we were to do this differently next time, I feel as if we could have tied it into our marketing tactics and talk about how the future impacts would improve the company from a stakeholders aspect. As mentioned, this would have tied in with the main goal of any consulting project, and was a crucial part of tying all the research we did into the main picture. I am glad this information was shared with us, and it will definitely be incorporated into our Grow Irish Presentation. Overall, this was a great experience and I am glad we got a sneak peak at how to conduct a professional interview with business people before heading to Milwaukee in just a few weeks.
