OKR 1 Summary- Upon completion of this OKR, my hope is to have completed my studies and done an exceptional job in completing coursework. I have always wanted to attend Notre Dame, and feel as if in the one year that I will receive what I put into this program so there is no reason not to put in 110% effort. At the beginning of this semester, I cited achievement as one of my Philosophies of Work, and setting a goal is my way to put this philosophy into action. Throughout navigating this program, I hope to enhance my team building skills, my leadership skills, and improve my work skills by operating on deadlines. Graduating from Notre Dame while earning good grades would certainly be a resume boost, and I feel as if by following these steps I will be able to achieve the goal I set for myself, and am glad this activity helped me plan out the process a little more efficiently.

OKR 2: Get Hired

Objective:

Get a job with a Professional Sports Team/Fortune 500 Company

Key Result 1:

Gain valuable experience during Grow Irish week and perform well with Molson Coors in order to establish real-world experience

Key Result 2:

Expand my network with Notre Dame alumni in the sports field

Key Result 3:

Continually meet with Jessica Stookey in order prepare for networking calls and application interviews

Ever since I was a kid, I have always wanted to work within the sports industry. This has transitioned over time from wanting to be a professional athlete to then wanting to be on tv covering live sports, and finally to now where I am trying to get my foot in the door on the business side of sports. During my time in MSM so far, I have opened myself up to more possibilities of where to start my career path, while still having the same end goal to be involved in the sports industry during some point in time. In my Philosophy of Work, one of my other crucial traits in work is creativity. When applying this to trying to acquire a good job, I want to work on my stand out factors, and be creative in trying to apply to a lot of different places. By meeting with Jessica, I believe that we can both figure out a good plan to help put this into fruition. In addition to this, the MSM Program felt like a perfect fit for me while I was trying to transition into the business world, especially here at Notre Dame. Many alumni here have paved their way into the sports world out of Mendoza, and trying to network with them and find out the direction they took to get where they are right now is something that will be very valuable, and using these resources in the Notre Dame network should propel my career in the right direction upon completion of my time here.

OKR 3: Notre Dame Connections

Objective:

Make lifelong friends within the Specialized Masters Cohorts

Key Result 1:

Be apart of the Notre Dame community and attend social events with the programs

Key Result 2:

Attend athletic events to support our athletes and classmates

Key Result 3:

Go out and socialize with friends, whether it be off- campus, studying, at mass, etc.

Lastly, the final OKR I hope to achieve throughout my time here at Notre Dame is to establish lifelong friendships with people from the Specialized Masters cohorts. Thus far, I feel as if I have done an exceptional job of making a large friend group, and I want to keep doing this by integrating myself with the Notre Dame community. The first trait I cited in our Philosophy of Work was loyalty, and this is a trait I have carried with me for a large chunk of my life, including the first 3-4 months of this program. Being an only child, I value my friends extensively, and having a good circle of friends around me is something that is crucial for my well-being. Notre Dame is such a special place, and having people coming from all around and having the same background when we leave here is cool, and is almost like a brotherhood. By continuing to be involved in the community by attending social events, athletic events, clubs, going to mass and other campus activities are ways that I will continue to grow my Notre Dame “brotherhood” and is something that I will carry with me forever as I reflect upon my time here when it is over. These are also people that are going to be valuable connections as we continue on with our careers. Everyone comes to Notre Dame to be successful, and I am very blessed for the people I have met so far and will continue to put effort into strengthening these relationships to make the most out of my time here at Notre Dame.
